People are, in the year of our lord 2023, rushing to sign up for a new social media platform created by Mark Fucking Zuckerberg? Did everyone just forget about literally everything to do with Facebook over the past five years? Are they only capable of hating one social media billionaire at a time?

Don't do it y'all. Threads will no doubt work better than Twitter but it's gonna be at best a lateral move.

Hello! If you're new to cohost, welcome! I've been here posting and lurking the #gamedev tag since the site went public a year ago and have always tried to boost and interact with the developer voices I've met along the way! It's been very rewarding to help boost and cultivate a community of all sorts of great small projects!

Here's a grossly incomplete list of chosters you should follow! I'm going to include gifs/screenshots so you can see immediately how much you need to go follow them!

I generally vibe w/ cohost, it's a neat platform for what I'm going for in regards to social media. It's got a lot of what made my previous main platform (twitter) appealing to me, minus all the stuff that made it pretty noxious even at its best.

The thing that's odd to me about it is that, like, it's new enough that it doesn't seem to have any dominate social rules to follow yet like other platforms. Like Twitter is the wild west, anyone can just come out of nowhere, drop a comment, and run off into the night and that's just cool. If you do that on Facebook you're immediately revealing to the world that you either are an elderly person who got lost or have the mindset of one.

But here I'm like... is that cool? Can I sit at this table? Do I comment or just like? What about reblogs, are those okay?

Idk man, I'm just gonna treat this shit like tumblr 2 until something more cohesive comes about.
